The Oscars, which have long been the Oscars for films that get nominated, are expected to take place this year on February 25 in Hollywood, California.
That date was the date the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced it would award the Oscar for best documentary on January 6.
The new date for the Oscars, however, was announced by the Academy as a change to its previously announced date.
“The Academy has decided to postpone the February 25th Oscars to February 26th for the same reason,” the Academy said in a statement.
“This change will allow the Academy to focus on its 2018 awards, which will be announced in early March.”
The Oscars will also be moved to January 6 to accommodate the ceremony, which is being held at the Dolby Theatre.
